Changing dark eye color on GIMP? 10 PTS BEST ANSWER!?

hey guys,

i love photo editing and today i just installed gimp 2.2

and i reallly want to find out how to change the eye color in a photo.

now, the thing is,

i have REALLY dark brown, almost black eyes, and the normal color techniques don't work for me, they just make my eyes look darker.

and i want to try out what it would look like if i had red or purple eyes.

so i need any videos, tutorial links, or step-by-step instructions to elp me change a really dark eye color to another color.

thanks so much.

hmm, well i personally don't like gimp at all. :O)

i suggest using splashup, you can register for free and edit the photos. well on splashup, lasso or highlight the eye and go to filters and then click colorize. then you can change the color and strength settings.

:)

well, i'm not sure if that's completel accurate, but i do it that way and it works fine.

k? well good luck!

:)hope i helped.
well, i can't help too much, but you should have a higher version of gimp. i'd search deviantart.com for different brushes. ABR format is supported by the newest version of gimp (also known as photoshop brushes). there are others that GIMP doesn't support, so I would be cautious on what ones you download. Also, if you do download brushes, be sure to keep in mind the terms. What I typically do is use the fuzzy selecter at a lower thresh hold and choose the color and select little by little, making the basic color darker to lighter as needed.

I have learned alot from the tutorials there. I'd look at them even if you don't think its what you're looking for.
