turning 16 in 13 days, and i'm getting my permit (i know. my parents hate me.)
My eyes baffle me, as they arent blue green or gray, but all of them. And not hazel, i've asked if they look hazel, but everyone says no. They say ';they look blueeee..noo...green...crappp no gray. Hecks idk';
Should i just put hazel for simplicities sake? Or is there another name for this hybrid of color? (I really wanted to use the word hybrid today. Ignore that it didn't go with my sentence pahaha)What do i say my eye color is when i get my permit?
I would go with hazel because that eye color encompasses a mix of so many colors (brown, blue, green, gray). Your eyes can be a hazel mix of different colors, but it would probably be easiest to put 'hazel' on your permit, unless you want to put 'hybrid' on there instead (which would be awesome).

What is the most common eye color in Italy and for Italian Americans?
Just wondering. I was talking to a Polish American today about different eye colors. I know that most people from Polish decent have blue eyes and possibly blond hair. I also know people of German decent have blue eyes. So anyways, this Polish person (when I refer to Polish or Italian or German American I don't mean that he was from Poland but that some of his ancestors came from Poland, Italy, Germany etc...). So he has blue eyes and he is almost 100% Polish. I am 100% Italian and Sicilian and have blue eyes that change sometimes. They are mostly blue, but really light blue (and I mean REALLY LIGHT) with a little yellow in them when I look at the sun. They have a ring of dark blue around them (my eyes are more of a lighter blue). Anyways, I would like to know what color eyes are common for various countries.

1) How can I keep my eyes from changing back to green, or to any other color, and keep the gray?
2) Is there any way I can reduce the amber/light brown, but keep the gray?
I was reading on this, and found a few articles that mentioned how sunlight can darken the iris [in the early months of life]. Does this keep happening throughout life, or does the iris reach a point where the sunlight doesn't make it any darker?
Also, I found that certain eye drops can permanently darken the iris. Is this true?
Last, but not least, is there any way to reverse the darkening of the iris?

I had a male betta with light hazel eyes, he was EVIL. I think he died from stress from flaring at his own shadow. He lived to be 7 months old. Now I have a Girl betta who's evil and what do you know she has light hazel eyes. She constally flares up at the other 3 bettas in my 10 gallon tank. as a baby my eyes were blue, then turned hazel. I'm 18 now and they're medium brown. My mom has light brown, my dad's eyes turn from gray to hazel sometimes, and my grandmother has hazel / gray eyes as well. my grandpa had brown eyes but the majority of his relatives had green or hazel eyes. on my mother's side, her relatives have mostly light brown eyes or hazel! I don't think you can change the eye color with any substance. However, what you could try to do it is see how moods, clothes colors, etc change your eye color. Sometimes people with eyes like yours can change them that way. Of course, it is not permanent but it will help. My only other suggestion is eye contacts. I have heard if you look online for like halloween stuff you can find a variety of different colors..

So I've been pretty much working on this since the question was posted like two days ago, and I'm not sure if I've got it, but here goes...
If you were to assume that all three genes were on the same chromosome and tried to map them, you would get really weird recombinant frequencies (often over 50%). RFs can never be more than 50%, so something is wrong. If you look at the four phenotypes that occurred frequently (black-scarlet, black, hooked, and hooked-scarlet) you will notice that these phenotypes either have the recesive black gene with the WT hooked gene (b hk+), or the WT black gene with the recessive hooked gene (b+ hk). It is only the scarlet gene that changes. I therefore assumed that the black and hooked genes were linked, while the scarlet gene was on a separate chromosome and did not affect recombinant frequencies.
If you take the remaining four phenotypes, you can simply add up all the numbers to get the frequency of recombinants for b-hk (I think) because the scarlet gene doesn't matter. You therefore get a frequency of crossing over of 55/1000 or 5.5%. This equals a 5.5 map unit distance between the black and the hooked genes.

I have a question about eye color?
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what my husband and my kids eye color would be. YES I know it could be almost any but I know depending on your family there are more chances for certain colors so I was wondering if anyone could help me.
My husband has hazel eyes but his eyes are mostly green with only a LITTLE very light brown right around the pupil but even in the dark they look green, very pretty.

Well anyways my eye color kinda brothers me and i don't think its normal.

For example,I knew this one girlfriend of mine in school who had to different colors of eyes. One was different from the other. And they would change color with the weather. There's this guy in the movie with veeerrrry light blue eyes in it, and I stand by my belief that they're contacts. The only thing is that there are other pictures around that have him with the same extremely light blue eye color and I was wondering...

Greens, blues, purples, pinks, that's the wonder of brown eyes, they really go with anything.
I absolutely adore Mac, and smut is a nice dark brown colour. Knight divine is all right, I have it and it's a nice medium gray.

I absolutely adore Mac, and smut is a nice dark brown colour. Knight divine is all right, I have it and it's a nice medium gray.

What do you consider this eye color to be?
My baby use to have bright blue eyes, then they turned green, then brown. Now they are kind of mixed color but not sure what to call them...maybe it's hazel? Sometimes they look green and sometimes they look brown!

Well anyways my eye color kinda brothers me and i don't think its normal.

Very easy! Use Any of the Photoshop editions. I use often the latest Photoshop Software, but any will do. This is very simple applications and will take you 3 seconds: Open Photoshop, Go to File OPEN, Go to the Marquee tool and select the eye area. Go to Image , then Adjust then COLOR balance or play with the HUE/Saturation ( usually my best Photoshop Surrealistic Artworks I had created playing with the Hues).Hope this help.

I have wanted to travel to another country so bad since I was little.
On the government forms it has a eye/hair color question and it may seem like a simple question but I've always gotten mixed opinions on my eyes and stuff.

It is quiet difficult to tell but i'd say blue eyes and brown or light brown hair. The pictures are very bright that you have links to so it could be deceiving but i'm sticking with blue eyes and brown hair :)

Ladies ... what is a good eye color for dark brown hair?
I just recently got contacts for my first time. I'm going through a week trial period to see if I like them or not ... and so far, I like wearing contacts.
I want to go with colored contacts and change my eye color. With my Italian features, I have dark brown hair and brown eyes. I'm not sure what kind of eye color goes good with dark brown hair. What do you think is a good color? Below are some pics I posted of myself and maybe you can give me some advice of what eye color I can go with. Thanks!

In my personal observation I have noticed a pretty strong trend. When it comes to selecting a mate one usually picks somone with eyes that are a different color than there own familys. Example say you have blue eyes and your family has blues eyes, then you will be more likley to marry somone with brown eyes. But say you have blue eyes and most of your family has brown then your more likely to marry a blue eyed person. Does this make sense? Your own eye color doesnt matter, its the eye color of your family that determines your selection of a mate.

For me it's brains, personality and character that determine whether I'm attracted to someone (there are so many different types of people!) Just an interesting fact, I'm the only child (one of many siblings) that has a different eye color than the rest, makes no difference in my preferences though.

I have brown hair and eyes and have always been initially attracted to the ladies with brown hair and eyes.
Even so, it would never be relevant to my selection of a partner. If the ';right person'; ends up blond and blue-eyed,so be it. Eye color is not going to be a major deciding point.

How do I enhance my eye color? [pic]?
So I have been going blank when it comes to makeup ideas... and I would like to switch things up. Usually I just use black or brown eyeliner and mascara and that it for makeup, but what colors would really bring out my eyes? They're greenish-greyish-blue... lol.

almay has eyeshadow pallets for different eye colors to either ';play up'; or ';bring out'; your eye color. they work great! check it out.
for the record, you're eyes are beautiful. you don't need to do much to bring them out. also a quick tip... to ';open up'; your eyes avoid the black liner. it makes your eyes look small. use a light color (light cream or white) on your inner eye and upper brow. it will bring them out. (see my second link)
I'd go with a metallic blue, but not too thick............just a real thin line, but make sure it's metallic blue and not just a plain blue. You should use a liquid instead of a pencil to get as thin as possible, as too thick of blue will look ridiculous, and it may take some practice. That and basic black mascara would be a good look for you. Be sure to go all the way across the top lid, and only across the outer 1/2 of the bottom lid.
I would go for a purple color with the smokey eye technique.

almay has eyeshadow pallets for different eye colors to either ';play up'; or ';bring out'; your eye color. they work great! check it out.
for the record, you're eyes are beautiful. you don't need to do much to bring them out. also a quick tip... to ';open up'; your eyes avoid the black liner. it makes your eyes look small. use a light color (light cream or white) on your inner eye and upper brow. it will bring them out. (see my second link)
I'd go with a metallic blue, but not too thick............just a real thin line, but make sure it's metallic blue and not just a plain blue. You should use a liquid instead of a pencil to get as thin as possible, as too thick of blue will look ridiculous, and it may take some practice. That and basic black mascara would be a good look for you. Be sure to go all the way across the top lid, and only across the outer 1/2 of the bottom lid.
I would go for a purple color with the smokey eye technique.

My husband's eyes are brown. My Father In Law's family all have blue eyes though. But his mom had brown with no blue in her family..that is why his eyes are brown. But as i said, his dad's eyes are sky blue.

But since she has started hanging out with a new group of girls she has become afraid to admit to this. Peer pressure is a horrible thing. I really hope she'll continue to do well and doesn't get put off by being seen as a 'nerd'.
Speaking for myself, I was definitely 'steered' more towards the humanities when I was choosing options for A levels. This despite the fact that I had slightly better results in the sciences. I ended up dropping out of sixth form and returning a few years later, to study what I should have been encouraged to do all along. Choosing what path to pursue in life is confusing enough for some people (especially indecisive people like me :-)) and it doesn't make it any easier when teachers have set ideas for what they think certain kids SHOULD be doing.

I hate my brown eyes. I want blue eyes, and NOBODY can change my mind. Both sides of my family have blue eyes, except for my mom and dad, but everyone in my immediate family besides my little sister have brown eyes. You wouldn't believe how much I want my eyes to change. I had to be stuck with these crappy genes. My parents WILL NOT let me get colored contacts, I don't have bad vision. I have hazel eyes too i use neutral colors. Sometimes i will add a silver or gray and it looks okay too. If you want bright then try a pink. omg one of my really close friends has the same look as you and she does her eyes beautifully. What she does is line the bottom inside lids with brown eyeliner and wears gold/brown eyeshadow. Then she uses brownish black mascara and thats all. Its simple but i really look gorgeous. Here are examples of some stuff you could use....

plum, cobalt blue, deep purple, rose, cherry red, burgundy.
For eyeliner use dark brown instead of black. It looks like black but reflects your eyes better in light because of your skin tone.
Mascara: brown black or try a funky dark purple color.
soft greens and browns will make good eyeshadow and the above colors I mentioned too.

Well i don't think you're ugly! Like a little forest elfin.my eyes are hazel also but more of an almond shape. I use smoky grays blended with forest greens. Anyways, on to the colors:
plum, cobalt blue, deep purple, rose, cherry red, burgundy.
For eyeliner use dark brown instead of black. It looks like black but reflects your eyes better in light because of your skin tone.
Mascara: brown black or try a funky dark purple color.
soft greens and browns will make good eyeshadow and the above colors I mentioned too.

How come everytime i wear light colored eye shadow i look weird?

That picture is a few months old and his eyes have changed to more of a hazel to a green. You can still see some blue if he wears a bright blue shirt. His eyes didn't really change color until he was about a year old.
Bothn my girls really didnt change eye color from the newborn grayblue they had, they just lightened up if anything. But depending on wether happy or angry they do change from blue to gray but so do my husbands. I really wish one of my girls had my dark chocolate brown eyes but alas that probably wont happen and they are 6 and 4.

Hello a year ago i suffered a thermal heat burn from a fire which came in close contact with my face and my eyes. My eyes seem to be fine and so is my sight but i have noticed that my eye color looks darker and as if it has faded it seems to me that the heat has caused some kind of a color change like it has washed away the color in my iris but as i said my eyes are fine so do you think the heat may have had an ill effect on the pigments in my iris and have caused the change or even loss of color but without somehow causing damage to my eyes and do you think the effects can be reversed and has anyone heard of anything like this before . My eyes are light green , but when I was about 15-16 years old , I always wanted dark brown eyes .So , I bought colored contacts , and they looked totally fake on me . Then I understood , that there is a reason why people get the eye color they have and not some other color . I think that all eye colors are gorgeous , no mather what .And about that stupid guy who said that he doesn't want to date women with brown eyes , has serious issues. If I was brown eyed , I would have stayed with my own eye color instead of going out to buy contacts . It's really important to love your own eye color , because each and every color is special . Besides ,It's really stupid to judge based on the eyecolor , because one girl may have beautiful blue eyes , but on the inside she can be empty and shallow.

It's totally stupid. Even if people have an ugly eye color, which I don't know what that would be because I have never seen an ugly eye color, it wouldn't make the person ugly. And the guy that doesn't date brown eyed girls has something wrong with his head.

I don't mind coloured contacts personally... as long as its not purple or really pale blue or red. Or any too abnormal colour.
I think the only ugly eyes are like the ones where people get contacts that are animal eyes... *shudder* sooo creepy.

my eye color is hazle (it can be blue, green or gray) regarding the color of my clothes, so that personality prediction form eye color will not work oon me.

I have never heard of this but I do think it another lame excuse to judge people even more than we already do.
I don't always think that eye color goes along with a persons personality.
But I do think a certain eye color is made to suit everyone individually.
I do have colored contacts and I just like to wear them for fun sometimes, and I got them to be funny to see if any actually payed that much attention to your eyes. And to tell you the truth most people don't. Some of the people I see every day took at least 4 days to notice a change.
I don't think any eye color is ugly at all they are pretty and unique in there own ways.
