Whats up with the eye color change in Twilight?

I have read some of the other asnwer to this question...So in the movie vs book comparison did the movie mess up? if the Vampires eyes are red the first couple years, then why were Laurent's eyes red although it was said that he was at least 300 yrs old...and if they are golden brown after feeding, then why were Edward's eyes brown when he first began to talk to Bella and only changed golden brown in the hallway? Quick answer... Was the movie a bit accurate in this detail and other details compare to the book or was it way off?Whats up with the eye color change in Twilight?
This is a simple question but I'm glad you asked it. Because I'm sick of the questions that aren't proper questions like ';TEam Edward or JAcob'; and I wanted to answer one about the books.

Anyway no the movie didn't mess up. Yes Vampires eyes a pretty much fiery red for the first year. But Laurents eyes were red because that's the colour they are when you hunt humans and drink human blood. They go Gold when you substain from human blood and feed off animals instead.

So the movie was right.

Great question you get a star.

xxSelenaxxWhats up with the eye color change in Twilight?
Edward's eyes were black in Science class when Bella 1st sat next to him.Edward smelled her scent and was thirsty and wanted to kill her.He ditched school for a few days and went hunting so that he could be around Bella without wanting to kill her and his eyes were golden brown in the hallway because he fed and wasn't thirsty anymore. They messed up in the movie on Laurent eyes because he's 300 years old and his eyes should of been black or brown.Only newborn

vampires eyes are crimson and change to brown after a few weeks. The movie is entirely different the book.
The movie was way off in everything but in the movie it did show Laurent with red eyes they had like a closeup on that, and they meant that they are red when vampires are newborn but if they keep drinking human blood then they're eyes will stay red but since the Cullens drink animal blood they're eyes turn golden brown , and u're so right the movie was off in that part where Edward's eyes were brown when he first began to talk to Bella and only changed golden brown in the hallway
Laurent's eyes are red because he feeds on human blood. Topaz means the vampire drinks animal blood, but the book says that Edward is a bit crabbier when his eyes are dark coloured because he hasn't drank any blood for a period of time, and it's not like he can hunt that quick before talking with Bella in the hallway.

That means it is Stephenie Meyer's fault because of twisting those fictional vampire facts!
The reason why their eyes are supposed to turn amber after a few months is because they do not drink human blood. For vampires who continuously drink human blood, their eyes stay red because of some chemical property.

Edward's eyes turn dark brown when he's thirsty, and turn golden brown when he's not.

I dont remember much in the movie.
Red eyes mean they survive drinking human blood.

The golden topaz coloured eyes that the Cullens have mean they drink blood only from animals making them ';Vegetarians'; of sorts.

I think the movie was a bit off with that detail. And it put me off being able to see that they were contact lenses... ever since I've been wearing contacts myself I've noticed when anyone else is... it's weird how many poeple do.
Laurents are red because if they drink human blood then its red like blood. But the cullens eyes are golden because they only drink animal bloos so that dims the color. They were brown the first time he talked to her because he needed to feed again. But each time they feed their eyes get more golden. I hope this makes some sense.
Red-when vampires are quenched, because they drank vampire blood, or are a newborn

Gold- when vampires are quenched, because they drank animal blood

Bleck-when vampires are thirsty.

Don't ask me why the eyes change color. It's beyond me.
The eyes will stay red if the vampire survives on human blood.

The Cullens have the topazy-gold color because they're ';vegetarians.';

That's the difference.
She decided to stupidly try and differ human blood from animal blood.

It's all blood, thus there should be no reason to have 2 separate eye colors.
Their eyes change color because Stephanie Meyer REEEEALLLY likes the color entries in her thesaurus...
ok smile obviously you love GAYlight sooo much that you stopped caring about spelling. Shut up!
it was pretty accurate, but the color contacts that the actors wore were a bit weird....
omg are u that dumb?????? i cant even anser ur question.
