How does this work.... Eye Color genes?

ok well heres the deal,

i have hazel eyes which is a recessive gene...

my dad has blue also recessive

my mom has brown which is dominant.

sister1 has blue

sister 2 has brown...

so therefore.

how do i have Hazel?

Dad = r r

mom = D r

sister1= r r

sister 2= D r

and i must be= r r

but how? like isnt hazel more dominant than blue

if so then shouldnt my dad hazel eyes?

ya im confused...

and yes my parents are both my parents i look way too much like my dad lolHow does this work.... Eye Color genes?
It all depends on what RNA structure of the eye colour gene is passed along in the DNA. In some cases, even first or second generation might have a difference from the ancestors but the gene gets passed back to the third or fourth generation.

Ask your parents more about their parents and grandparents.

Good Luck !How does this work.... Eye Color genes?
Eye color is not that simple! There are all sorts of modifier genes that affect the base color. Your ';hazel'; is because your parents also had a gene to modify brown to hazel ... technically it's partial expression of brown.

They are inherited independently of the basic Blue/Brown (pigment / no pigment) genes.
