My boyfriend has a fantastic color blue eyes, but has a yellow ring right around his pupils that makes up a lot of the iris. I have heard that yellow eyes might be a sign of illness, but besides mild heart issues, he's a very healthy guy. Does anyone have any idea why this is? Is this just the natural color of his eyes, or should he see a doctor?
Also, his eyesight is unfortunately terrible; he's considered legally blind. Could this have anything to do with it?
I've always wondered about this, so if anyone has an answer for me I'd really appreciate it! Thanks! =)About unusual eye color (yellow rings around pupils)...?
Has it just appeared recently or has he had it for a long time? I noticed that when I started wearing my colored contacts, I went from a dark brown color to a light brown color and an odd greenish yellow ring right around my pupil. It may have been from my eyesight getting dramatically worse or from the colored contacts, or even something else.
Some people often get a smokers eye, which is where they develop an odd hazel color in the eye when they begin smoking. If he doesn't smoke, than this isn't it, but if he started smoking and it appeared it may be the reason.
Either way, I would have an eye doctor check it out.About unusual eye color (yellow rings around pupils)...?
I have it too, mine look like Sunflowers, and I'm not blind! lol I read up on this on Wikipedia and green eyes are made up of the blue and the yellow.
I know you said his are blue, mine are bluish greyish green, but with that yellow circle our eyes are considered hazel.
Here is a quote: There are 3 true colors in the eyes that determine the outward appearance; brown, yellow, and blue. How much of each color one has determines the appearance of the eye color. The color of the eyes in turn depends on how much of these colors are present. For example, green eyes have blue and some yellow, making them appear green.
